But the thing that made me more nervous than that was right after 9/11 when i saw armed guards standing at the gate that i walked through every morning on my way to school. That gate was normally unmanned. I was in school the day before and saw in class the destruction n NYC. but having armed guards on my way to school made it seem more real to me. Great post Anne.
